Nars’ ‘Laguna’ Bronzer is one of Francois Nars’ Cult Classic
products. It's staple product in both my professional kit and my own
personal collection. This product is a must have!
The shade and tone of the bronzer will suit just about
anybody. I am extremely pale and the colour is perfect for my skin tone. I have
also used it on clients with a darker Indian complexion and it has turned out
amazing. The darker your skin the more you do have to use to achieve the same
results.
The pigment level is perfection! One swipe of your brush
picks up a perfect amount of product to work with at a time. You don’t need to
constantly keep dipping your brush in and it also doesn’t pick up that much pigment
that you over apply making it very easily to apply.
It’s not normally a good idea to use bronzer to contour the
face as it can create a very un-natural look due to the orange under tones.
When the bronzer has shimmer through it, it can create one hell of an orange,
glittery mess. Nars’ Laguna however breaks all the rules! It’s more of a grey/brown
shade rather than orange/brown which allows the product to create natural
looking contours. This bronzer does have some shimmer to it but it’s subtle
enough to not be an issue.
Whether you’re using ‘Laguna’ to carve strong contours on
the face or just add a little bit of a sun-tanned glow, you will not be
disappointed. You may however be a little disappointed at the price tag. In
Australia it retails for $49.00 ($38.00 in US). Ouch!
I’ve had my personal ‘Laguna’ for a bit over 12 months now
and it still has a lot of life in it yet. I ‘hit pan’ around the 10 month mark.
I use it every single day so I am very happy
with how much use I have had out of this product already.
The classic Nars packaging which is a black matte finish,
can become quite messy after a while and has a tendency to become covered in ‘foundation
fingerprints’. This may be something that bothers some people. I really do wish
Nars would come up with some better packaging.
Overall I think this is a great product and worth investing
in. Even if you’re someone that only has a few make-up items in your make-up
bag, this should be one of them.
